  • Silicone Heart Molds
  • Unicorn Horn Mold
  • Candy Markers edible ink

  • 12 oz. bag White chocolate candy melts (340g)
  • 12 oz. bag Pink candy melts (340g)
  • 6 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • sprinkles for decorations

Make the hearts

  • Melt the candy melts in the microwave or in a double boiler until completely melted. (see notes)
  • Add a layer of melted chocolate to the bottom of the heart silicone mold.
  • Add a chocolate sandwich cookie.
  • Top with enough melted chocolate to completely cover the sandwich cookie.
  • Chill the hearts in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight,

Decorate the Hearts to look like unicorns

  • Make 6 Unicorn horns using the unicorn silicone mold. Fill the horn with white melted chocolate and let it harden. Remove the horn and color it yellow or gold with an edible ink candy marker. Make the horns while the hearts are chilling
  • Unmold the hearts and attach a horn to each heart with some melted chocolate.
  • Add sprinkles to the base of the horn.
  • Use a black candy marker to draw on the eyes and a red candy marker to make the pink cheeks. I added a little red color to the tip of my finger and then smudged it on the cheeks.
  • Share with the unicorn lover in your life.

Make it Healthy and Food dye-free.
To Melt Candy Melts or white chocolate in the microwave. Microwave for 30-second intervals. Stir after every 30 seconds. Be careful not to overheat the Candy Melts. Overheating them will cause the candy to form a solid clump of candy. If this happens, throw out the candy and start over. Alternately you can melt in a double boiler on the stove.
Use white chocolate in place of the candy melts.  Candy melts have artificial flavors and food dye colors.
To color the white chocolate, use natural powdered food-based colors. (click here) for a link to purchase Jelife color. Remember, you have to use a color that works in an oil or candy base. The only colors I've found that work with candy are powders. Please don't purchase a powder that requires you to mix it in water before using it.
