Fresh Strawberry Pie - Best Ever

Fresh strawberry pie is easy to make and tastes as impressive as it looks. Juicy ripe fresh strawberries in a strawberry glaze say Welcome Spring!

  • 9 inch pie dish


  • 2 quarts strawberries 3 quarts for a deep dish pie plate.
  • 1 pie crust pre-baked
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup corn-starch
  • cup water
  • 1 package jello strawberry flavored


  • Make or purchase a pie crust and prebake. (click here) for my Easy No Fail Pie Crust. Be sure you watch the video.
  • Remove the stems from the strawberries and wash them. Set them aside.
  • To make the glaze:
    Combine the sugar, cornstarch, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, and boil until thickened.
  • Remove the thickened mixture from the heat and stir in the jello. The mixture will become thin and watery. This is normal.
  • Pour the glaze over the fresh strawberries and stir to coat.
  • Pour the berries into the prebaked pie shell. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.



Notes:  Serve chilled pie with ice cream or whipped cream. 
Store pie in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.  Cover the pie with a piece of plastic wrap that was sprayed with a little cooking spray.  This keeps the plastic wrap from sticking to the berries.
