DIY Taco Seasoning

Make you own seasoning envelope for Tacos with this simple DIY recipe. So much better than purchased commercial seasoning.

Equipment

  • airtight container to store the seasoning in.

Materials

  • 2 tbsp Cumin
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika smoked if you have it
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp corn starch (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Umami Powder shiitake mushroom powder a flavor enhancer.

Instructions

  • Mix all the ingredients together and store in an airtight container. 2 Tbsp. is equal to one envelope of commercial Taco Seasoning. Add the cornstarch if you are using the seasoning for meat tacos. Add the seasoning to ¼ cup of water before adding to the meat.

Notes

Taco Seasoning will last up to a year.  If it forms clumps, break up the clumps with a fork before using.
